Each month during the academic year CIS produces a 30 page serial (A4 size pages) containing news articles on environmental and social topics featured in Australian capital city newspapers. The articles are reformatted to fit onto A4 pages and each page is allocated a subject heading from the SCIS Subject Headings List.

Articles are selected from the following daily and weekend editions of:

Advertiser (Adelaide)

The Age (Melbourne)

Australian Financial Review

Canberra Times

Courier Mail (Brisbane)

Daily Telegraph (Sydney)

Herald Sun (Melbourne)

Mercury (Hobart)

Sydney Morning Herald

West Australian

Each article is in full text and carries a complete source reference including the newspaper title, date and page number. Authors’ names are included (if published) and illustrative material of significance is included. The articles are arranged alphabetically by subject heading and each page is double-sided so that each sheet can be easily inserted into alphabetically arranged subject folios or files. On average, each issue contains approximately 40 articles.

In 2017 we suspended publication to review the format and method of distribution.
